We purchased a home with a "Home Protect" warranty in Feb. We had it checked by someone with years experience in the buiding industry and the HVAC appeared to work properly. After closing and moving in the air cond would not cool. Filed a claim and after paying $100 to have someone look at it the company informed us that they would not cover the repairs to fix or replace it.
Stated that we needed to get a "Home Inspection" before we purchased to have the warranty cover it. Upon questioning this I was read some paragraph that as far as I could determine didn't even relate to it. When we signed papers at closing we even questioned the appropriatness of not having anything to sign relative to the home warranty. We were assured it was not needed.
