This is the company that is doing the major renovations at the westfarms sq plaza buildings in the Bronx. My mom asked me to watch the apartment for her during a some of the constrution because she is not well and couldnt handle the dust and moving of the furnition. So when they came the phase to do the floors and paint the walls and other renovations i was present to assist and watch. On the last day wed of this particular phase i decided to head out to run some errands because i was really doing nothing there but being in the way, the leader of that particular team, said "it's ok we will slam lock your door when we leave, all we need to do is finish waxing the floors" so i felt it was ok to leave and come back later when they had finished. When i get back i noticed right away that my laptop was missing, i had the latop in the bathroom because it was the only room they werent working in, they had renovated it months before. So i was thinking maybe someone moved it since there was a mess in the apartment from all the movemment, i called my mom and told her to come the next day because i couldnt find my laptop, and i didnt want to assume so i would ask the workers in the morning. She said she would come to the apartment. So as more time went on i looked around to see if it was anywhere in the apartment. As im looking i also noticed that my camera was missing (nikon d 5000), so now i knew it was theft. The next day i approach the construction workers and asked them if any one knew where my two items were, no one knew anything. So i decided to call the cops, a few minutes later thier supervisor comes to the apartment and tell me that just to give him the reciept for the items and they would replace it buy giving me the money, i told him its more than the money i had my daughters pictures and videos i been collecting of her since she was born on my computer, my child lives in canada and that all i have of her, its more value to me then any electronics, he said he understood and he would at least get me the monetary value of the missing items. I said ok ill get you the reciepts, sure enough i gave the reciepts to his assistant and he made copies and said i would be receiving compensation that friday or that following monday, and throughout all this time the police never came, but i wasnt worried because he asured me he was going to take care of it. Three fridays later and a bunch of run arounds i see the site supervisor and he tells me " hey maybe you should speak with the management of the building" im like what? Thats not what you told me, so i called the cops again, and this time they show up and i made a official police complaint, this is the complaint number # 048-1982. My mom finally went to the managetment office (West Farms Square LLC) and they told her that since im not on the lease they are not liable. So im here writing this report, next i will right a report to the Better Business Bureu and The Department of Labor, because they have illegal immigrants working for them.
