I moved into Atlantic Realty's newly constructed luxury apartment building back in the early part of 2007. When I moved into my apartment the building was less than one year old and I was the first resident to move into my apartment as was everyone else who was moving into the building.
Immediately upon my move in date is when everything got interesting (to say the least). Within my first week I had a punch list which included problems with my heat, problems with my hot water constantly running out, mis-matched color tiles in the bathroom, missing grout from around my tiles, appliances were not working or connected, my granite countertop wasn't sealed, my carpet was shedding fibers by just walking on it, the entire apartment needed to be repainted due to a horrible initial pant job, my bathroom and kitchen fixtures all had paint and plaster stains, my alarm system wasn't working, I wasn't given keys to my mailbox, my parking spot was directly beneath some dripping construction materials, my smoke detectors were broken, some of the shelves in my apartment were broken or missing, etc.
The above list are just the major issues I had with my apartment.in addition I had been lied to by building rental agents because they told me the apartment building was built in such a way to isolate noise. THIS WAS NOT TRUE! Out of all the buildings I had ever lived in Towne Centre was by far the worst when it came to noise. The noise problem was so bad that I could hear my right ABOVE ME use the bathroom or close the draw to his night stands!!!
In addition building rental agents told me that all the building amenities such as the screening room, gym and childrens play areas would be ready a couple of weeks after I moved in which was another lie. It took upwards to six months before all those amenities were ready. The two biggest lies I was told was that there was rail service to NYC within walking distance of the building and that the building was going to build a swimming pool. BOTH ARE NOT TRUE.
I've tried to work with management but they just kept on feeding me lies after lies and acted in the most unprofessional manner you could imagine. They're approach is to send another manager to speak to you in hopes that you would give up. Because of all these issues I along with dozens of others have filed law suits against the building and Management Company.
By now you get an idea of who Atlantic Realty Development Corporation, Inc., Middlesex Management, Englewood Terrace, LLC and Garden Apartments are. If you see any of these names on a rental agreement RUN!
