I had just moved into my apartment complex a month prior to getting pest control coming in my apartment for the monthly extermination. This was their first visit since we had lived there. My apartment complex pays for the service so they pick and choose who they use.
I had been in bed when they arrived, my husband answered the door. I went into the bathroom b/c I was still in my night gown. My husband let him in, then went to find me to let me know who it was. The bug man had been alone in all rooms of our house.
The next day my husband went to put his watch (that was left to him by his father that passed away) and his wedding ring on before heading off to work. He couldn't find either of them! He always takes them off and puts them on the entertainment center when he gets home for the night. We ended up turning the house upside down looking for them. Then we remembered that Bugs R Us was in the day before. The only explanation is that the bug guy took them. They didn't just get up and walk off by themselves.
I called up my apartment complex and told them of what happened. They asked me to file a police report. I did. The police came out to take my statement. Then a few days later we were contacted by a detective. He said don't count on seeing them again. He put a notice on the items at all the local hawk shops.
About a month later we decided that the company had to be insured for things like this. They took 2 of the most sentimental items my husband had. Along with totaling about $450. We called up Bugs R us only to get a lady who said she doesn't get paid enough to deal with this stuff. Said she was going to have the guy who was in our apartment that day come over so we could talk to him!!! We didn't want to talk to the person who stole from us! We told her that. She just didn't get that we wanted to try and get reimbersed for the items since it was their employee who took them. So what does she do, she has him call us. We told him we didn't want to talk to him and hung up.
Turns out it was the wrong guy! It wasn't even the person that had been in our apartment! We never got the matter resolved. Our calls were not returned.
Don't let Bugs R Us in your home, or at least when your not right there watching their every move. Who knows what will turn up missing!!!
