We purchased the matress directly from the abed.com website. There is only (2) ways to checkout and purchase the matress on the site. (1) pay by financing (2) pay by credit card. We opted to pay by finacing and was told that the monthly payments would be 28.00 a month. The matress is 22.00 a month and with the matress cover added it uped the payment to 28.00 a month.
We received the matress by UPS no contract was enclosed. We received a bill the next month satting the balance was 408.00 and amount due in full. We sent the agreed amount of 29.00. The next month the bill arrived with the adjusted balance and no late charge fee. We were then contacted by a rep from Hudson Bank about the account. We informed him of the situation and was told that was the way it was sent to them for collection.
Hudson Bank then advised us to continue to pay as we agreed and to contact abed.com. We contacted abed and was quickly transferred to another number that had a recording stating office was closed. This was well within their business hours. We have received numerous calls from Hudson with a different rep about the same problem with the account. We have tried to contact abed.com by email and phone and always the agent at abed.com would quickly trasfer us to the same recorded message about the business hours.
Now several months have gone by and we have been turned over for collection and our credit is in jeopordy due to underhanded practices. I have spoken with the collection dept and they advised the have heard this about abed.com and to contact the BBB. Again the only way to checkout and purchase from abed.com is by finacing or credit card.
We didn't use credit card and agreed to 28.00 a month. But that seems to have been changed by abed.com without contacting anyone when they transferred to Hudson Bank. The company also goes by Advanced Comfort. Report/Complaint has been filed with BBB
