Worst service ever. Avoid contract at all cost

We had a problem with our cooktop and when we contacted the landamerica home warranty in Oct first they sent a repair man who after looking at the cooktop told us it would need to be replaced. He told us that the warranty company will call back with the details. After couple of weeks of waiting, when no one called, I called them again. This time they said they will send an "expert". So after couple of weeks and "expert" arrived. He also concluded that the cooktop needs to be replaced and will let the home warranty company know about it. Then no contact for another couple of weeks and I again had to call them up. This time they said they will send the "expert" again to repair the cooktop. I was surprised because he had told me that it cannot be repaired. Well after couple of weeks (it was already 2 months by now), the expert again arrived and after looking at the cooktop concluded (again) that it needs to be replaced and cannot be repaired. Well isnt that I was being told all this long for 2 months. I kept my patience although it was soon running out now. Now began the cat and mouse game of me calling them every week and they telling me that someone will call me. When it was 3 months and my patience completely ran out, I called and asked in a serious tone about what they were upto and then the fun started. They started using words like "access" and "authorization". It was a new word every week. First they said the repairman needs access. I was flabbergasted as I didnt understand what that meant. So I called up the rapairman when access he needed and he told me he never asked for any "access". Next week they said they need "authorization" from management. Well it was 4th month and isnt that we have been trying from day 1? Its Jan now and the status is still the same - they tell me every week I call them that someone will call me. My contract ends in feb and I am afraid they wont do anything till then. Does anyone know if I can fight a case against them in consumer court?
