This builder plays on a buyer's interest in doing the right thing environmentally but just plays the same contractor games. He will claim to be doing the eco-friendly work — geothermal heating hookups, cisterns to collect rainwater, use appropriate materials and technologies — but nothing ever happens. No cisterns are delivered, nothing is provided on dual-flush toilets, no heating system hookups.
Instead, there is always some reason why something can't be done and why the promised materials never appear. Meanwhile, as the building schedule falls further and further behind, he declines to do the job unless he gets another payment.
Vendors who have worked with Michael McClellan, the owner, marvel at his paper-thin understanding of what needs to be done to get the job done. He claims familiarity with systems while the client finds out later this is a sham.
When the property owner has finally had enough and says that the work has to catch up with the agreed payments, McClellan disappears saying that he will only do the job when even more money is paid. He then refuses to respond to queries. I'm in the process of legal action to recover monies paid for work not performed. Beware.
