I paid $15,000 greater than a conventional air conditioning and heating system to install a geothermal system in my home that included pumps, heat exchanger in the lake, etc.
In order to get my business, Romberg told me that my situation was ideal for geothermal and that I could get an equivalent SEER rating of 28 out of the system that he was to install.
Romberg was paid the full contract amount, and the geothermal system never worked. After he was paid in full, he refused to return to my home to get the system to heat or cool.
I had to hire another geothermal contractor to get the system working. After re-engineering Romberg's poor design, I had to pay an additional $10k to repair the substandard work done by Romberg/Action Mechanical.
The other contractor told me that Romberg has a terrible reputation for installations that are poorly done and/or not completing the work he was hired to do.
Romberg misrepresented the performance of my system, and he was unable to get it to heat or cool.
I guess my experience is representative of his engineering expertise, and I would not recommend him or Action Mechanical Services, Inc. Under any circumstances.
