I had bought a tub and i travel quite a bit. The contractor I had installing the tub phoned me that the tub was too large. He returned the tub to swap the tub for the smaller one that cost the exact same amount. The contractor didn't bring the receipt and Home Depot doesn't do swaps so they refunded the money but, at a sale price which was $100 lower because he had no receipt. The contractor took the credit and bought the smaller tub along with some plumbing items for installation. I returned home 2 days later took both receipts in to prove I what I paid for the tub, which was $100 more that the store credit they gave me, and when i showed the refund and my receipt showing what I paid Home Depot said there was nothing they would do to give me back my $100. I taked with several managers including the store manager and they all refused to help. So I am out $100.00.
I cut up my home depot card and now I go the Lxxxx only, they have an electronic system that shows all your purchases for a year so no receipt is required. I spend about $10K a year on rebuilding supplies and Home Depot didn't care that their cheating me out of $100 would cost them thousands in business. Well, now they are in financial trouble and I say "no big surprise" to me. Cheat your customers and this is what you get. I will never do business with these cheats again!
