Acrylic Spas Of Arizona
Consumer fraud ripoff And Phoenix

On 11/22/02 I visited the Acrylic Spas store on Ray Road about purchasing an Icon Weslo 615 spa. He said there were none in stock but offered a new 2003 model with lots of great new features that could be delivered from the manufacturer in two to four weeks. I took his offer and gave him a $1,000 down payment. He said I would be contacted as soon as it was in.

On Monday 12/16 I called to see if it was in and was told it would be delivered by Friday. On 12/18 they called and said my spa had not arrived from the factory. They offered me a new larger 716 model worth $500 more at the same price as the 615 model. The 716 was too large for my space so I told him I would wait for the one ordered. The next day they called again and said my spa was there after all, and it would be delivered the next day. On 12/20 after the spa was set up I was told several parts were missing and had been ordered. I paid them $1742, $500 short of the balance - the remainder to be paid when I received the missing parts.

Two days later the spa stopped heating. It took 4 weeks for a new motor assembly to be delivered and replaced. During that time I made numerous complaints about the non-functioning spa and the still missing parts.

I asked that the spa be replaced or I be given a full refund. Requests to speak to the president were ignored.instead I was told to send the $500 balance due, reminded that all sales were final and told to call the factory myself about the missing parts.

After another visit to Acrylic's showroom I realized that the spa I received was not the new 2003 model I'd ordered. I called the manufacturer with the serial number from my spa and learned it had been built in July. They had no record of Acrylic ordering my spa and said the missing parts for the spa I had were no longer available.

While I bought and paid for a new 2003 Weslo 615 spa, what was delivered to me was a discontinued 2001 model that had been sitting around for the past year and a half being cannibalized for its parts.
