I ordered a Yamaha ef2400is generator from Hayes Equipment. The factory sealed box was not noticeably damaged on the exterior. Upon opening, it was obvious the generator had been dropped. The panels were all popped off and the frame rails on which the generator sits had been bent so the exhaust pipe will not line up with the hole in the panel.
I called Hayes Equipment and spoke to John, the owner. He let me know it was my problem and they were absolutely NOT going to do anything about it. Told me to take it up with the shipping company and that I shouldn't have signed for it. He said he didn't care and it certainly wasn't his problem. I told him I'll pay for shipping back and then dispute the charges with my credit card company. He said he's been there, done that before., as he laughed at me.
Don't be a victim of Hayes Equipment. They have no customer service and do not care about you. They sent me defective equipment and basically told me to screw off.
Suprising the owner of the company treats people like this. After my experience I found many reports of them treating others like this.
