Vanderbilt Mortgage Cmhp And Clayton Homes
Consumer fraud and lender violations

After purchasing a mobile home in a clayton community with clayton insurance and mortgage on site, I found no occupancy permit was issued when another home was added 10 feet away and my disability ramp was thrown on the hillside I was located on. There was no room to park, turn or replace the ramp.

When I reported this I not only found permits were not even applied for but the home was not properly set up.
Clayton insurance did not honor my coverage and I started getting harassed daily and threatened.

Ordinance for placement of the homes were not adhered to and the hillside is not secured and my marriage line was dripping water while decks are sinking.

The mortgage holder, vanderbilt, started abusing me and lost payments... I cannot even get a copy of the payments as payments were lost and not applied.

The set up of the home was covered up when the company came out and fixed it without documenting it in writing and had a re inspection shown as a new set up so the fact it was not properly tied down is not recorded except in the original inspection... I wonder how many families lost everything due to similar set up issues.

Instead of making good on the insurance, the policy was cancelled when I attempted to collect from Clayton.

When the state came in to investigate, I was threatend by the mortgage holder and told my payment was not received. They had not notified me ahead of time and put my early payment in an "unapplied fund" from which monthly late fees were being deducted without my knowledge.

I am still struggling with the company after five years. I use a hair dryer to keep my marriage line dry.

I was told the home was a foreclosure and although I purchased it in the first year of manufacture and obtained new home coverage, they claimed it was not covered because it was a foreclosure.

It had never been moved and because I made a considerable down payment and could have purchased it from the person who it was supposedly foreclosed from I do not believe this was the case and it was fraudulently sold to me.

I still don't have a clear occupancy permit due to the fact they did not comply with ordinance when placing the home and I am stuck with a home I have invested over 20k in and a mortgage with the same company.
