Only after I purchased the home I found first Clayton was not obtaining the proper permits for structures or occupancy permit when adding homes. This meant they did not need to comply with local ordinances.
The state also found the home was properly set up and tied down which caused damage to the structures of the home.
Only after it was reported to the state did they secure the home and order a re-inspection rather than writing what they did to correct the situation as requred by the state so they could avoid the documentation of the fact they were not setting up the home to regulations or properly securing them.
I am still fighting this and the state has reopened my complaint as I have insisted this is documented as requred by regulations.
I wonder how many homes have blown over and people killed in homes not properly set up like my own.
The state can only investigate when an owner complains. My neighbor's home is tilted and like most they did not realize what they had to do and Clayton just purchases the home back.
The damage to my structure has still not been corrected.
Please contact me if you need further information or have a similar situation and are seeking remedial action.
