Clayton Mobile Homes Warantee Issues And Fraud
Lack of warantee and fraud

In 2002 I purchased what I thought was a new home. It was manufactured within the year. It was on site in a park and I was told it was occupied but the money was returned and the people did not go through with the sale due to the husbands relocation.

I was told I could not select my own carpet, etc. Because it was set up for another buyer. I purchased an additional insurance policy from clayton to cover this home as a new home.

The microwave melted over the stove, the door bowed and the marriage line leaked water and the back deck was sinking. The home apparently was not set up properly.

For a couple of years my home was torn apart and clayton kept saying it had to dry out or whatever and delaying the repairs.

When I reported it they did not follow through because they claimed it was a foreclosure and all homes that were pre-owned had no manufacturer warantee whatsoever, although It was essentially new at the time I moved in and purchased it.

Because I had the additional coverage through Clayton, for it to be treated as a new home, this should not matter and I suspect it was not foreclosed on as there was not sufficient time from the manufacure of the home and my purchasing it.

I was not informed of the foreclosure and could have purchased it directly from the person it was forclosed from because I put 20% down payment and Clayton was aware I was looking for this model and location for months before I closed the deal.

Obviously the added insurance is a fraud and their lack of disclosure is also fraudulent.
