I am only reporting poor quality and service so that future buyers are aware. Every person I've contacted with this company was professional and only followed their employers policies.
The first dining table was returned within the year and replaced by Ashley for peeling finish. The replacement table did the same thing and we reported it 1 week after the year was up. We were told to call the extended warranty company (Guardsman). We made our claim and it was denied. They sited manufacturers defect. We called Ashley customer service and they said they can't do anything. Asked Ashley if it was on a recall since it was defective and the answer was no.
From ashleyfurniture.com/, "Quality, Style, Selection, Service", and "We want to be the best furniture company." It seems Ashley believes finish on a table that lasts a year is acceptable quality and enough to make Ashley the best furniture company. It seems that leaving us at the mercy of an extended warranty company they sold to us and refusing to contact them on our behalf is acceptable service for Ashley and enough to make them the best furniture company.
