Contract for landscape design for a newly built house on 3 acres in San Diego County. DesignScape was to design the landscaping plan for 1 of the 3 acres.

The design was to include irrigation, lighting, hardscape and plantscape plan with a CD and plant encylepedia.

We waited 3 months to get the plan, after many phone calls inquirying about the status of the design.

After recieving and reviewing the plan, the irrigation plan was worthless. 21 zones with the controller located in the middle of our neighbors driveway; the lighting plan would have made the area look like a landing strip and the planting plan was a jungle with over 100 different varieties of plants. The hardscape design consisted of a couple of pictures and no specs.

We discussed the situation at length with the GM and were informed that we recieved what was required in the contract. No designer ever visited our site; the design was done from pictures taken by an employee and sattelite imagery.

The only positive benefit was a few hardscape ideas that we garnered from our 3 phone conversations with the designer who was based in Ohio.

I would not recommend their service to anyone. They are expensive and not prepared to do the type of work most people would expect from a "Landscape Designer".
