Inferior Vacuum, near-impossible to change components, eats belts, Cleveland OHIO

I purchased a Kirby Ultimate G vacuum/carpet cleaner when a salesman came to my home and demonstrated it. It looked so easy when he went thru the steps to change out the components. However, when I tried it myself (after purchase) I was unable to twist and turn and switch out components. (I should have noticed that he sat in the floor as he switched each part out). I phoned the company to complain, and he came back out and told me that it was just stiff and it would get easier. Each time I would vacuum, the machine would eat the belt and it would start smoking. A repairman came and said that the shaft was bent, he replaced it. He also sat in the floor to do the repair and switch components. He told me that my floor was uneven and that was the cause of it eating belts. (I have moved to a new home, floors very even, and it still does the same thing.) I told him that I could not sit in the floor to do the switching, because I have severe arthritis. The machine is so heavy that I cannot lift it to put it where I can work on it. He told me that they sometimes would take the machine back if the purchaser was 62 or older. I was only 60 and they refused to take it back.
I am still unable to switch to the carpet cleaner unless my daughter comes by and fixes it for me. It is difficult even for her to do.
The machine is a piece of junk. Kirby just laughed me off and told me to contact the person that I bought it from (who has since vanished).
