My elderly mother in Florida sold her home to purchase a beautiful log home package from Maine Coast Log Homes, Inc. She prepaid in full $44,705.00 in 2004 and has received nothing in return.
Repeated phone calls, emails and certified letters over the past year remain unanswered, as do requests for full refund, as well as a request for even a partial refund.
Their response to their wholesale representative in Florida who tried to assist her in getting a refund, was to CANCEL their representative's contract.
Company claims they "are prepared to ship the materials upon reasonable notice and PAYMENT OF STORAGE CHARGES or other fees that are due". Company originally agreed that final payment which is normally paid upon delivery, would be paid in advance so there would not be any storage charges, and included the prepayment of shipping charges. How is she supposed to arrange shipment of materials when they will not take her phone calls or respond to correspondences?
It appears they now intend to keep the money and the product as well.
