Coast Cedar Homes & Sun Rooms and Lindal Cedar Homes, Inc. Took deposits from me and my husband two years ago to build a home on our property. They delivered a stock set of plans (which are proprietary and cannot be used), but no materials or other services. My husband died before we got any further in the process. At first, Ed Gerhig from Coast Cedar Homes said I had the option of receiving a "hardship" refund of all but $4,500.00, which he said was the cost of drafting and engineering. Even that seemed a bit high to me for stock plans, but I thought it was better than nothing. Well, that option disappeared almost before it was offered. Mr. Gehrig instructed Lindal to create another set of plans for a smaller version of the house we intended to build, without my knowledgge and without any authorization from me. Over a year and a half and many many unkept promises and unreturned phone calls to Gehrig and Ted Cormier (who also promise to at least "research the option of a refund under the circumstances), the Regional Manager, I finally received a letter giving me three options. First option: I could authorize shipment of materials (can not afford to do so after my husband's death). Second option: Sign a termination agreement and receive not a single penny in refund. Third option: Put the project on hold and pay the going price at some future date if and when I'm ever in the position of being able to build the house.
Thanks alot Lindal!!
