In March I bought a new G.E. (Hotpoint) dishwasher. It's now September, and the dishwasher still doesn't work. It occasionally completes the cycle in the prescribed hour, but more often than not doesn't.
I understand that sometimes new appliances malfunction, but I contacted customer service multiple times, and they were useless. I scheduled four separate service visits with the following disposition:
1. First technician said the timer needed to be replaced, and that he would return in two days. He was never seen again.
2. Second tech replaced the timer which had been fed-exed from G.E., after I had to call customer service to schedule an appointment due to the no-show return visit of the first tech.
3. Third tech said there was nothing wrong with the machine, despite my having to manually advance the timer so the cycle would not take three or four hours. He said this was normal.
4. Fourth tech never showed up.
Customer service said there was "no limit" to the number of service visits I would have to schedule, and that they would not replace the dishwasher. Since I had no more vacation time to use up to schedule visits, the dishwasher still does not work, and customer service couldn't care less. I have not heard from them since June.
