After discovering this site I am obligated to tell of my encounter with the ever-so-crooked Protect America.

I bought a house that had the Peacekeeper alarm already installed. After finding out that Protect America has the Peacekeeper, I gave them a call.

I too dealt with Chris Johnson initially. He fax'd the contract, I read it, signed it, and fax'd it back. Before faxing it back, I confirmed with Chris that there would be no problem paying for the equipment with one credit card, and using a different credit card for the monthly billing. This was duly noted on the contract that I fax'd back to them. This was also confirmed with a Walter - who is a self-proclaimed supervisor. Chris was required to transfer me to Walter who would confirm the contract terms and what not.By the way, Walter talks faster than an Auctioneer. I repeatedly told him to slow down and that he sounded shady.

I was to receive a new alarm (no charge) and micro contacts (no charge) and some extras that I would pay for.

Four days later, I discover that not only was I billed way too much, but I was also billed on the wrong card. I immediately called Chris Johnson, but of course he was busy. I then asked for Walter. After giving him a taste of his own medicine (fast, arrogant lip service), I cancelled the service. Cancelled with Chris, cancelled with Walter. Walter promised to handle the cancellation and of course did not.

Instead of a cancellation, I receive a call from Chrissy - another self-proclaimed supervisor. Talk about rude & obnoxious... This chick is one serious piece of work. If I could reach through the phone, Chrissy would have gotten the beatdown of her life! She offered free this and free that, but no cancellation. After she couldn't convince me to keep the service... She hung up on me.

Then there was James (last name Long, I believe). He also promised to resolve the issue, but like a coward, I never heard from him again.

Again, this is all taking place a mere 4 days into this non-relationship. I explained to both Chrissy and James that their billing mistake was causing me a great deal of stress and misfortune. Think of someone wiping out your bank account when you have automatic bill paying in progress.

Anyway, the only employee whose name I don't have is the one who was most helpful. It pains me to say that she was courteous and professional, because this company deserves no accolades whatsoever! This one employee gave me my account number along with some other good info.

The length of our relationship was four days. I never received the equipment. I had it returned from the post office before it even reached me. I fax'd my formal notice of cancellation on that same 4th day, but as expected from a bunch of rip-off artists... They did not return all of my money... Which was billed to me incorrectly in the first place!

I'm sure they thought I was bluffing, but I had quite a few referrals lined up. Everything happens for a reason.

Repeat after me... STAY AWAY FROM Protect America! You have been forewarned.
