My old A/C had stopped working. I called Sears for an inhome estimate. The sales person told me that the system was over 25 years old and had to be totally changed. I signed a contract with them for a new A/C that was installed. Two weeks later the A/C leaked causing a significant water damage to my hard wood floors.
They were quick to send the subcontractor who to my surprise told me that the leak was because of the pump!"Why should a new pump leak?" According to the subcontractor, they did not change the pump because that was not what Sears had ordered!!!
I have had nothing but headache with the local office and the corporate office. Customer Service is a big ZERO! They have ignored my calls and emails. It has been 3 months of absolute frustration. My tenants finally got tired of living in a house with messed up and torn up floors and terminated their lease early.
Do Not use Sears Home Improvement. They use aggressive sales techniques to get you to sign and then once you have issues, they absolutely ignore you.
