This is an interesting problem. I spent over an hour with "Jan" who could not answer to my satisfaction why my scanner would not work. My printer has only been hooked up for one week! Anyway, I ended up having to reinstall my printer to my computer but was told that when I take my computer back and forth to my office (which as a HP 1500 deskjet by the way) that the software for the new printer at home is incompatible with the software in my office printer. How does this make any sense? Right. It doesn't! Because I bought the printer from Staples back in August, I can't return it. Now I know better. When you buy something, try it out immediately!
