A few weeks ago I purchased a wireless modem from my local phone provider. After getting it set up, I still could not connect to the internet. I called the phone company and they ran their test and found no problem with the modem or internet conection and told me I needed to contact the maker of my laptop which is HP. Upon calling them and talking to a tech person it was discovered that the wireless switch was turned off (by the way, for some reason on this computer there is an orange light that is on when the wireless is off and no light when it is on, that seems backwards to me). My complaint is that they charged me $99 for " customer support" That is not customer service, that is sales. I have a Hp laptop, a printer/fax/scanner and a digital camera, they are all good products, but a company that sells me a product and then charges me for customer service will no longer get my busines. I am considering sending this e-mail to all my co-workers, I work for the third largest school system in the state and with a few clicks of my mouse I can send it to nearly two thousand people.
(I will wait to see if I get a reply first). I feel in todays strugling economy, companies that don't offer good customer support or charge an outragous prices for it, may not be around very long.
