Geek Squad Failure

1. On February 5th I purchased my pc towards the Geek Team at Bestbuy in Paramus, NJ. I understand it'd a bluescreen mistake and desired to remove the images & files from this. With all I've heard about bluescreen mistakes, I thought I'd require a specialist to assist me.

2. I described the problem towards the specialist in the table who blocked my pc and he observed the bluescreen mistake.

3. He explained it'd charge $99.99 to complete the things they named a back-up/move. I decided and he offered me types; on a single I published precisely which documents I'd prefer to recover. I wrote: All Pictures & files (shine&term) After I told him all images, he also wrote about the type: jpeg, pdf, hand

4. He never stated there is possible of no restoration.

5. I paid $99.99 money and was informed I'd get a telephone call in 1-2 times when it had been total

6. I received a note on around. Feb 8th and visited get the pc about the 11th

7. Once they purchased out my pc I had been educated they were not able to do the support I bought and they could be ready to advance the restoration to Level-2 but that may charge anywhere from $500 - $1000.

8. I told them no thanks & also requested to get a reimbursement simply because they weren't ready to do the support I bought.

9.in those days I had been informed that there is a “tech fee” included which I'd get the stability. I questioned just how much this “tech fee” was and he explained he would examine it together with his supervisor.

10. After likely to the rear and talking to his supervisor he explained that it’s often $70.00 but due to the conditions he was just likely to cost me $60.00

11. At this time I questioned him wherever about the agreement that I closed does it state that when the support I bought couldn't be achieved, that I'd be billed a “tech fee”.

12. He explained it wasn’t about the agreement and so I told him to request his supervisor about this.

13. While he arrived again he showed me a-line about the agreement which was really obscure and never relevant to my scenario. Used to do not abandon a deposit; I taken care of something they couldn't supply.

14. I inquired easily might talk to the supervisor myself.

15. The supervisor of the Geed Team, Rich arrived, explained he did the very best he might by getting $10.00 down and explained easily had further problems, to get hold of corporate.

16. I'd them approach my $40.01 reimbursement and remaining.

17. I instantly went and named the 800 customer support quantity and talked using a repetition. I told her the problem and he or she set exactly the same supervisor about the telephone from Paramus.

18. We went round the same stop & he explained that “a technician used HOURS attempting to recover the data” I stated, “how several hours? ” He explained, approx. 48, it was using the customer service repetition about the telephone. So that they have to recover costs for that point invested.

19. I noticed I had been getting nowhere using the discussion and so I finished it without any resolve.

20. I chose to do my own personal study. I'm in no way a PC specialist, but I actually do possess a restricted knowledge of how they function.

21. On February 12th, after studying a few sites I ran across articles which called me to some site: prosoft engineering that could provide me with free demonstration application to determine when the push was recoverable

22. I adopted the directions by disconnecting the burnt drive, and adding it like a extra hard drive, to some working computer I've.

23. I saved the demonstration but had trouble which makes it work. I named prosoft engineering due to their help plus they delivered a my mail that worked.

24. After adding their demonstration and operating it through the burnt push, I came across that I had been ready to get all my documents, myself, free of charge; in the drive the specialists stated had “no data”.

· If it has occurred in my experience, whom otherwise has it just happened to?

· in my opinion that I ought to be paid for that remainder of my “tech fee” plus some
