I bought magic jack over a year ago. I have broadband and the quality was still very choppy and static. The worst thing is that had a lag to it so having conversations over it can be frustrating at times.

The worst part is the billing. Because of all the short comings with Magic Jack I have not used it since I bought it and tested it. Then all of a sudden I got an e-mail saying I placed an order for international minutes. So I contacted their customer service (only online chats... No actual phone numbers) about the charges, and went into a long conversation about them saying that i purchased it and me arguing that I did not even use magic jack for the last 10 months let alone buy international minutes. At the end they said they would cancel the order and refund the money.

After a month, I see a charge on my credit card and so I went back to freaking chat with them again and they gave me the same bs about how I made that order and then I had to explain all over that I contacted them last month about it and no I did not place that order. It isn't that the $40 is much, but it is frustrating for them to charge without my consent and then saying that they would take care of it when they never did and I had to come back a month later to spend another hour debating with them.

So really, no I will not recommend this for anyone.
