Cisco

Cisco Systems, Inc. is a San Jose networking and security company. Most older complaints in our archive (2005 to 2012) concern Linksys routers sold while Cisco owned Linksys; Cisco's FY2013 10-K says that line was sold in fiscal 2013. This page lists Cisco's published sales, billing and support lines, a Webex billing note, and BBB and Trustpilot as displayed on October 16, 2026.

Cisco, Linksys router and Webex problems: what to do (checked October 16, 2026)

This page covers Cisco Systems, Inc., a networking, security and collaboration company that sells mainly to businesses. People search for 'Cisco complaints' for three different reasons, and the route depends on which one applies.

1. A Linksys router, adapter or camera. Cisco's FY2013 Form 10-K says Cisco sold its Linksys product line during the third quarter of fiscal 2013. Linksys today carries the notice '© Linksys Holdings, Inc. 2026', and its contact page lists 'Linksys UK Limited' in Milton Keynes as global headquarters. For a Linksys device, use Linksys's own support center (linksys.com/pages/contact; its knowledge base at support.linksys.com shows 'Contact Support' and 'Check Ticket Status', opened 2026-10-16); I did not see Linksys mentioned in the text of Cisco's contact page that I read. Cisco-named Linksys posts in our archive date from 2005 to 2012; one 2014 post still names 'Cisco Linksys' but postdates the sale.

2. A Cisco product, license, order or bill. Cisco's contact page (opened 2026-10-16) lists: sales inquiries and order and billing at 1 888 852 2726 (press 1 for sales, 2-1 for order and billing); technical support at 1 800 553 2447 (enterprise and service providers) or 1 866 606 1866 (small business), both 'U.S. and Canada'; and a feedback form. The page describes support as 24/7 for products and licensing. Keep the order number, serial number and any support case number.

3. A Webex subscription or charge. Webex is a Cisco product, and our archive has Webex billing and cancellation complaints from 2010 to 2012 (see the complaint section). Webex's Help Center article Cancel your Webex subscription (dated August 04, 2026, opened 2026-10-16) says: 'Cancel your paid plan and auto-renewal any time from Account Management. Your current plan is active until the end of your billing period, then you're downgraded to Webex Free once it expires.' It lists the steps 'Sign in to Account Management', 'Go to Billing > Billing Information' and 'Click Cancel Webex subscription', and says 'You must be an administrator to make subscription changes.' Exceptions it states: for plans bought through Cisco Commerce Express, 'submit a cancellation request 30 days or more before your agreement's auto-renewal date'; for plans bought through a partner or distributor, 'contact your partner or distributor'. The article adds: 'We send a confirmation email for your request to cancel your subscription.' If a card was charged after a cancellation confirmation, a card-issuer dispute is a separate route.

Phone calls claiming to be 'Cisco' or 'Linksys' support. One archive post (2012) describes searching for a Linksys phone number, calling an 800 number from a website and being connected to a different company. Use only numbers published on the company's own site (above) and do not give remote access to your computer to a caller you did not verify. US fraud reports: ReportFraud.ftc.gov.

Who Cisco is

Cisco Systems, Inc. is a Delaware corporation whose principal executive offices are at 170 West Tasman Drive, San Jose, California (Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended July 25, 2026, filed 2026-09-02). Its stock trades on Nasdaq as CSCO. In that filing Cisco describes itself: 'Cisco designs and sells a broad range of technologies including hardware, software, and artificial intelligence (AI) powered digital infrastructure to power, help secure, and draw insights from the Internet.' It reported approximately 82,400 employees as of July 25, 2026.

Corporate address. Cisco's contact page lists 'Corporate headquarters 3098 Olsen Drive, San Jose, CA 95128' and, separately, 'Legal mailing address Cisco Systems, Inc., 170 West Tasman Drive, San Jose, California 95134'. This page uses the SEC address as the principal executive office.

Consumer products over time. Cisco's FY2004 Form 10-K says: 'We offer products to consumers through our Linksys division.' Cisco's FY2013 10-K says the Linksys product line was sold during the third quarter of fiscal 2013 ; in a Form 8-K exhibit filed 2013-02-13 (Q2 fiscal 2013 results) Cisco lists among the quarter's events: 'Belkin announced its intent to acquire Cisco's Linksys product line.' Neither filing gives a closing date. The same 10-K says Cisco decided in fiscal 2011 to exit the Flip Video camera line.

Complaints and reviews about Cisco (as displayed on 2026-10-16)

Our archive. 33 approved archive posts whose offender names Cisco (Cisco Systems, Cisco-Linksys, Linksys by Cisco, Cisco WebEx and software sold under Cisco's name) are linked to this page as Cisco's own; they were posted between 2005 and 2012. A further 19 posts name only Linksys or Webex (or were posted after the 2013 sale) and are linked as related brand posts, not counted as Cisco's own. One more names a retailer. These are individual allegations, not findings. Most concern Linksys routers and adapters sold while Cisco owned Linksys, so they mainly describe consumer-networking support and warranty experiences, not Cisco's present enterprise business.

Keyword counts across the 33 Cisco-named posts (a post can be counted in several groups): 20 mention a defective or failed router/adapter, 24 mention technical support, hold times or a paid support fee, 24 mention warranty, replacement or refund, and 1 mention a mail-in rebate. Separately, five posts from 2012 name a 'Cisco Capital Group' that contacted loan applicants and asked for upfront payments; the posts do not tie that name to Cisco Systems, Inc., so they are not linked here.

BBB. As displayed on 2026-10-16, the BBB profile for Cisco Systems, Inc. (170 W Tasman Dr, San Jose) shows an A+ rating, is not BBB Accredited, shows 35 total complaints in the last 3 years (5 filed in the last 12 months) and a customer-review average of 1/5 from 4 reviews. BBB's raw page data gives the file-opened date as 1997-01-27.

Trustpilot. As displayed on 2026-10-16, the page for www.cisco.com shows 62 reviews and a 1.6 score, a claimed profile (March 2025) and a 0 percent reply rate in the page data. Trustpilot does not fact-check reviews. The BBB and Trustpilot figures are separate sources and are not added together.

Legal proceedings: Cisco's 10-K disclosures and a 2019 settlement

Cisco's FY2026 Form 10-K (Legal Proceedings) discloses a Brazil tax matter and patent litigation (Centripetal and Ramot); the Brazil matter is summarized first, the patent matters after it. The 10-K also says Cisco is subject to other legal proceedings arising in the ordinary course of business.

Brazil tax claims. Cisco's FY2026 Form 10-K (Legal Proceedings) says Brazilian authorities investigated its Brazilian subsidiary, certain former employees and a Brazilian importer 'relating to alleged evasion of import taxes', and that Brazilian federal and Sao Paulo state tax authorities assessed claims against the subsidiary on a theory of joint liability with the importer. It states the remaining asserted claims aggregate to '$153 million for the alleged evasion of import and other taxes, $969 million for interest, and $315 million for various penalties' (exchange rate as of July 25, 2026), covers calendar years 2004 through 2007 for the federal claims and 2005 through 2007 for the Sao Paulo state claims, and that Cisco 'believe[s] the asserted claims against our Brazilian subsidiary are without merit, and we are defending the claims vigorously.' Cisco says it is unable to determine the likelihood of an unfavorable outcome. This is a tax matter, not a consumer complaint.

Patent matters. The 10-K says Centripetal Networks, Inc. filed patent litigation in the U.S., Germany and France and that these cases 'have either concluded with findings of non-infringement or invalidity or are in various stages of appeals' (in the U.S. the Federal Circuit affirmed the district court's non-infringement decision on April 29, 2026, per the 10-K). It also says Ramot at Tel Aviv University Ltd. asserted patent infringement claims against Cisco and Acacia in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and the District of Delaware, seeking damages and a royalty on future sales, over certain optical transceiver modules and line cards. These are patent disputes between companies, not consumer complaints, and are not described further here.

False Claims Act settlement (2019). Relator's counsel Phillips & Cohen LLP reported on 2019-08-01 that Cisco 'has agreed to pay $8.6 million to settle a "qui tam" lawsuit' about cybersecurity software problems in video surveillance systems Cisco sold to the government, with '$2.6 million to the federal government and up to $6 million to 15 states'. That figure is relator's counsel's statement; I did not open a government press release. This concerns government purchasers, not consumers.

Not covered. No FTC case, state attorney general action or consumer class action against Cisco over Linksys or Webex was identified in the sources checked on 2026-10-16 (a CourtListener case-name search and web searches); the FTC legal-library search could not be filtered, so this is a scoped negative, not a finding.

Is Cisco Legitimate?

Cisco Systems, Inc. is an identifiable company: a Delaware corporation with SEC filings (Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended July 25, 2026), a published corporate address, published sales, billing and support phone lines, and a BBB file (A+, not accredited, as displayed on 2026-10-16). Complaints in our archive mostly concern the Linksys consumer line that Cisco's own 10-K says it sold in fiscal 2013; a Linksys device today is supported by Linksys, not Cisco.

The complaint figures on BBB and Trustpilot are described in the complaint section above and are not repeated here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Cisco still support Linksys routers?

Cisco's FY2013 Form 10-K says the Linksys product line was sold during the third quarter of fiscal 2013, and a Cisco 8-K exhibit (2013-02-13) says Belkin announced its intent to acquire it. Linksys's website now shows '© Linksys Holdings, Inc. 2026' and lists Linksys's own support center. I did not see Linksys mentioned in the text of Cisco's contact page that I read.

What phone numbers does Cisco publish for orders and support?

Cisco's contact page (opened 2026-10-16) lists 1 888 852 2726 for sales (press 1) and order and billing (press 2-1), 1 800 553 2447 for enterprise and service provider support and 1 866 606 1866 for small-business support, both for the U.S. and Canada.

What can I do about a Webex charge after cancelling?

Our archive has Webex complaints from 2010 to 2012 about charges after a cancellation or an automatic renewal. Webex's Help Center article 'Cancel your Webex subscription' (opened 2026-10-16) says to sign in to Account Management, go to Billing > Billing Information and click Cancel Webex subscription, that an administrator is needed, that Cisco Commerce Express plans need a cancellation request 30 days or more before the auto-renewal date and that partner or distributor plans go through the partner or distributor. It says a confirmation email is sent. Keep the cancellation confirmation and invoices; Cisco's order and billing line is 1 888 852 2726 (press 2-1); a dispute with the card issuer is a separate route.

Where is Cisco headquartered?

Cisco's Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended July 25, 2026 lists 170 West Tasman Drive, San Jose, California as its principal executive offices. Its contact page lists corporate headquarters at 3098 Olsen Drive, San Jose, CA 95128 and the 170 West Tasman Drive address as its legal mailing address.

What does BBB show for Cisco?

As displayed on 2026-10-16, BBB's profile for Cisco Systems, Inc. shows an A+ rating, not BBB Accredited, 35 total complaints in the last 3 years (5 in the last 12 months) and an average of 1/5 from 4 customer reviews.

What does Trustpilot show for Cisco?

As displayed on 2026-10-16, Trustpilot's page for www.cisco.com shows 62 reviews and a 1.6 score; the profile was claimed in March 2025 and the page data shows a 0 percent reply rate. Trustpilot does not fact-check reviews.

Are the 'Cisco Capital Group' loan posts about Cisco?

Five 2012 archive posts describe a 'Cisco Capital Group' contacting loan applicants and asking for upfront payments. The posts do not link that name to Cisco Systems, Inc., so they are not counted as complaints about Cisco on this page. They are individual allegations.

What if a caller says they are Cisco or Linksys support?

One 2012 archive post describes reaching a different company by calling an 800 number found on a website. Use the numbers on the company's own pages (Cisco: contact page above; Linksys: linksys.com/pages/contact) and report fraud at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
