How this site works

How We Research Company Profiles

Every claim on a company page is labeled by how we know it. Here's exactly what each label means — and what it doesn't.

Five kinds of information, never blended

Company profile pages (at /company/{slug}/) combine five distinct kinds of information, always kept visually and structurally separate:

Verified

Facts USAComplaints itself confirmed against a cited source, with a verification date.

Public record

Court filings and government records. We always state whether a record is an allegation, a filing, a dismissal, a settlement, or a judgment — these are not the same thing, and we never present an unproven allegation as an established fact.

Consumer allegation

An individual complaint's own claims, always attributed to that specific complaint, never restated as fact.

External source

Data from BBB, CFPB, or similar third-party platforms, always labeled with its source and the date it was checked, never merged into USAComplaints' own complaint count.

Editorial

USAComplaints' own synthesis (for example, a "legitimacy" overview), explicitly labeled as such.

What "0 complaints" means

A company profile can exist, and be indexed, even with zero complaints submitted to USAComplaints. In that case we say exactly that — "Complaints submitted to USAComplaints: 0" — never that no complaints exist anywhere, since we cannot know that.

No star ratings

USAComplaints does not publish a synthesized 1–5 star rating or a computed "trust score" for any company. We show real counts (how many complaints, how many resolved) and, separately, whatever independent sources report — never blended into one number.

Corrections and disputes

If a company's information changes or a specific fact is disputed, that is disclosed on the profile itself, not silently edited away. Use the "Report incorrect information" link on any company page to flag an error.
