I found rv ice box's ad on the internet advertising they rebuild Dometic cooling units for rv's. Jerry stated that he did not have one like mine to sell me but would rebuild mine if I sent it to him and that his operation is a 24/7 and he has a 48 hour turn around. He also stated that he ships through UPS and I would receive my unit back in 4 days shipping time.
I sent it next day air and he acknowledged he received it the beginning of July. After several calls which no one answered and I could not leave a message I finally was able to leave a message to call me back after trying to reach him to check the status of it after I had not heard from him in a week or so. He returned my call and was very beligerant and said my unit was fixed and demanded that I go online and email him with an acknowledgement of acceptance of my unit back with no warranty and he would send it back to me at his exspense at no charge.
I waited several weeks with no unit being shipped to me. I finally emailed him asking if I send him the $395.00 if I can have my unit back in which he emailed back stating yes. He processed my payment the beginning of August using PayPal and I have tried to get a UPS tracking number ever since from him and he will not respond and I have still not received my unit back. It is not only the money I have lost but also the time waiting for this unit to arrive as I took a vacation that I had planned all my life and spent most of this time waiting for my unit so I could put it back in to have refrigeration because I cannot find another one of these as they do not make them anymore and I have not been able to find one. This man and his company have cost me more than money can buy in inconvenience and frustration and I do not believe he even cares and even has a concience because who would even contemplate putting people who put their trust in him in situations like he has. I trusted him with my unit and he let me down. I have since found out that there are some reputable companies out there that you can go talk to in person and obtain honest results. I have always been an honest person and have trusted people as this was how I was raised but unfortunately not everyone has the same value system as the rest of us that believes in these principles. I do not want others to become victims of this same unfortunate experience so if it has happened to you please share your experience here so others will know and learn. I wished I had done some research so I would have not become a victim. But I do believe that no one ultimately gets away with the wickedness they practice.in the end justice will prevail at the hands of the All Mighty. These injustices have to stop now!
