I purchased an extended warranty from Consumer Direct Warranty Services on Oct. 17 2008 for the amount of $2,465, the DirectChoice plan, top of the line, and also financed through Mepco Financial Corp. I filed a claim on May 26 when my air conditioning went out. My local repair shop faxed the needed repairs to CDWS and the repair was denied Exclusion-worn/burnt/not broken was the reason and also a non-covered condition under my program agreement. I called the CDWS rep and told me no again and stated NOT BROKEN. I told her that according to my contract that the compressor, condenser, evaporator and orifice tube were all covered under what I read, again the rep said no. I told the rep all that I wanted is what I paid for. I finally just let it go.
In Jan. 2010 my fuel pump went out and as I was being towed to my local repair shop I called CDWS since all I had on me was the claim card and was unsure if this condition was covered, but the contact number was out of service. When I arrived home I was able to check my warranty booklet with additional contact numbers, ALL the numbers I tried were also out of service. I then went online to see if I could get contact and what I found was pages and pages of complaints for both CDWS and Mepco Financial Corp... I now knew I had been ripped off.
