Enterprise Rent-A-Car
Fraudulent damage claim by Enterprise

An Enterprise car was loaned to me, paid for by a local dealer, when I had work done on my own car. The rental car was given to me dripping wet, obscuring any evidence of minor damage to the car; there was nothing obvious when I picked it up. I drove it home, parked it in my garage, and drove it back the next day to the dealer. A day later, Enterprise alleged $400 damage to the car and has billed me for this.

An online search will reveal many examples of this type of scam, with varying details. There is a possible class action lawsuit pending for this. If you have had a similar experience, email me with your details to althepa AT yahoo DOT COM. If you want to read more about the experiences of others, go to the following link:

Since we probably can't get through modern life without ever renting a car, when you do, insist the car is clean and dry and take numerous pictures of the car from every possible angle when you pick it up. DO NOT believe any assurances that they are only concerned about major damage to a rental car. There are numerous examples online where these companies will go after you for very minor scuffs that were obviously already there, which may be the case in my situation.
