I had my transmission repaired in August and it cost over $1700.00 for the repair and the 36 month or 36000 mile extended warranty. I was told that my transmission was rebuilt and the shift cable was replaced which added to the problem. I recently had to take it back because it wasn't shifting properly.
I was informed that the transmission they took out was not theirs and that I had a used transmission installed since the car left their shop in August and I would have to pay for the repair again. Of course, that isn't true so I had no choice but to let them do it again in order to get my car back, which is still there as I write this. I would be brain dead to put a used transmission in my car if I had a warranty for 36 months which covered all parts and labor if failure occurred. And I am near an Aamco center where I live. I brought it back to the shop that did the work, because I felt they would give me better service. My assumption of this is that the repair was never done in the first place and only the shift cable was replaced, which fixed the problem.
