My 1990 Lexus transmission was totally rebuilt buy AAMCO Transmission on 12/27/01 for $2128.00. The transmission only lasted 10,000 miles and 1 year 20 days and totally failed. They did an inspection and told me that the oil cooler was cloged with plastic shavings. This caused the transmission to over heat and fail.
They agreed to fix the transmission for parts and labor, which should not be more than $1,000.00. I heard this last year and 20 days ago!
The problem with this reason for the transmission going out is that the only place for the plastic shavings to come from is the transmission itself. Which means that the junk parts that they used failed!
If you use AAMCO Transmission for a repair service do not expect the transmission to last a day over the service agreement.
