I was involved in an accident in august and the other parties insurance agreed to take up the charges for the accident and for the rental. Of course when i went to take the rental the man on duty at this summerlin office told me i had to put down a credit card before i could take the car and once they have established that the other isurance was taking over my card will be removed from any further transaction. Within a day the insurance comfirmed that they had done what was required and had taken over the payment for the rental. I immediately called the rental office and confirmed this with them and asked if there was anything i needed to come down to sign or do to enable my credit card be taken off. He said no there was no need to come down and they were ok and were dealing with the accident insurance company. I had the car for a week throughout which time i liased with the insurance and the repair guy until my vehicle was ready and when i returned the rental vehicle they told me i had to pay in excess of $1000 for insurance for the period i had the car. I was horrified and tried to ask why since it was an accident claim and they said they continued to charge me extra insurance anyway. I was very very upset and tried to argue my case becos i already had my own insurance and was not even paying $1000 a month for my own auto insurance. But they were so indifferent and cold and refused to budge. There were other customers who observed my frustration and tears. I told them not to take any money from my card since that particular card had not enought to cover it and i only put that card down cos i knew it was an accident case and i was not going to be charged any thing. I told them i wanted to call their head office first and try to argue my case because i felt i was being defrauded. Without my knowledge they went ahead anyway and took the money out of my account. I made a formal complaint to the head office and received a letter from daniel gass who signed the letter as the vice president and told me he was fowarding the letter to howard putterman to investigate and take care off. That was the last time i heard from them. I later found out that they had done this same thing to soo many unsuspecting victims and there was a class action in the pipe line. I want to add my voice to all the victims of enterprise rent a car and say that i will not rest until that company is closed down because of these fraudulent credit card practices.
