*Note - the theft portion is near the bottom of the report* I went to Planet Hyundai on 10 October but they couldn't give me a deal I liked on an Elantra. However, they insisted I take the car for a few hours to try it out. It was approximately 7:00pm that night when I came back. I pulled into one of the front parking spaces facing the glass front of the showroom where there were several salesmen standing around not more than 20 feet from the car waiting for more potential customers. I got out of the car and was met again by Will, who again insisted I come inside to chat more even after I explained that we couldn't afford to get a car due to career transitions and medical fees recently incurred (both true). He and his manager, or whoever you call the second person who comes over to talk to you when the salesman doesn't get what he wants, continue to try and lower their numbers. I say I have to talk to my wife, so they tell me to call her. This is when i realized i did not have my iphone on me. Knowing that I had used the phone in the car on the way there, it either had to be on me, on the table in the showroom, or in the car. Since I didn't have it and I didn't see it, I went back out to the car which was still in the same place I left it just 10 minutes ago (I had left it unlocked) to get my phone. It was nowhere to be found. I and a couple of other associates looked in every compartment, the trunk, even under the car, and it was gone. Will called my phone, and it rang but no pick up. He called a couple of minutes later and it went straight to voicemail. What really pisses me off is that even though I'm still looking for my phone, they are trying to sell me the car and magically coming down from $267 a month to finally $199/mo with $2000 down. Please note that they never once told me how many months the deal was for. I walked out because I was damn certain one of them stole my phone, either to keep me there to sell me a car or just to steal the phone from an unlocked car. I understand that a random person could have stolen it, but why didn't a salesman see it and mention it when they are all standing right there? Why did they not ask all of they associates if someone went into the car or saw the phone? I asked them about surveillance cameras and they said those are only in the showroom and wouldn't even go look. When my wife went back to confront them about it the following Monday, they told her that maybe I just lost it and was too embarrassed to tell her about it. They also told her that they don't need to steal an iPhone because they all already have good phones. Their lack of morals and their apathy towards anyone not buying a car is pathetic and I'll be damned if I ever buy a car from them. I got a Nissan Sentra instead.
