I hand-carried two unmounted wheels into this shop, and asked that they install my snow tires (which I had purchased before moving from out-or-state) onto these rims. A simple request, no dismounting of other tires, no space required in their service bay. I was shocked that, upon completion, they charged me over $55 for this service! Most tire stores have been charging a maximum of $16 per wheel, and many stores have charged less because they did not have to put the vehicle up on their hoist.
When I complained to the manager, he said there was a surcharge because I was not a Burt Bros. Customer! Meaning, that since I had not bought their brand of tires at their store, I was being punished by being charged almost twice the going rate.
Obviously, I have never gone back to a Burt Brothers store, and never will. You would think that a business enterprise would welcome a new customer with open arms, and be grateful for an opportunity to impress this new customer with great service at reasonable prices, so maybe—just maybe— that customer would return in the future! But noooo! These clowns want to insult new and/or potential customers by jacking up the price as retaliation for not purchasing tires.
