Avoid for porsche auto service

Had the worst experience with this company on the service side. Sales force is good, but anyone needing porsche service should stay away.

Had a battery go out on my 2006 porsche right after i bought it (a 90k car) from them. They said the battery was dead. I replaced the battery, which I had a strong feeling upset them. It died again, they said it was because i didn't hook up the exhaust hose, and that the brand new battery still tested bad - they probably assumed it was the same battery as before.

So i knew at this time they were lying. They really wanted to sell me a porsche battery. Because i didn't believe them, i talked to the manager and tried to explain to him that not hooking the exhaust hose (which is present to keep explosions from happening inside the closed hood, and has no impact whatsoever on battery life) is not the cause, and i have a problem with my car electrically.

Then I blamed him for the way his shop was run - a big mistake - because I know I really insulted him. Then I recently took it back again, to get the problem fixed, even though I had a BAD BAD feeling about going back there, but hey, they are in my back yard, and how bad could it be.

And this time they correctly identified the problem as the ECU on the car. But it would not be fixed under warranty, because there were leaves in the engine compartment as a result of me having to occasionally go in and jump my car battery because the thing would always die.

So bottom line, they were incompetent in diagnosing the original problem (the ECU) and blamed it on the battery which they said tested bad (it didn't) and that it was because the exhaust hose on the battery caused the problem (total BS), and then finally, they discovered it was the ECU, but then blamed it on water damage due to leaves in the engine compartment.

They gave me a quote of over 1,000.00 to fix it. I took it to Fred Lavery, got it fixed for $575.00, and if I would have brought it to them first assuming my story was what i represented, they would have fixed it under warranty, but they could not because Suburban flagged it as water damaged. Nice.

I don't blame the techs, just the manager, as he is either an idiot or he thinks his customers are idiots (or maybe a combination of the two). Avoid them for service on porsche
