My car broke down, and I called AAA. They sent Plaza Service Center to tow me. The driver said I had to give him cash up front, that he was not allowed to tow me first and then let me go to the ATM, and was not allowed to take me to an ATM. He said that if he towed me to Plaza Service Center instead of my own mechanic he was allowed to tow me without cash. The driver later denied this, denied that he demanded cash up front.
At the service center I was told that my water pump needed to be replaced. Later when I was home I looked through my receipts and saw that I had a new water pump installed only a month earlier. I called Plaza Service Center and said I would like to see my old water pump, to leave it with my car.
When I picked up my car I was told that the old water pump was thrown out and that the trash was already picked up. This was all in the same day. They would not give me my keys unless I paid the full bill.
I filed a grievance with bot AAA and the Better Business Bureau. This company takes advantage of people who break down in order to trap them into coming for a repair, and then falsify charges. SHameful.
