I took my van into one of your shops in Texas to have my water pump replaced. The mechanic also pointed out that I needed a new tension pulley, which I was grateful for him pointing this out, and although funds were very tight, I agreed.
With every other shop in my city, changing the water pump means actually changing the water pump, which includes changing the gasket at the water pump.
When I picked up my van, I looked beneath the hood, and saw my old water pump, with part of it replaced. I noticed he had not actually taken the water pump off of the van or changed the gasket.
When asking the mechanic about this, he stated that he just rebuilt it while on the van. Yet, he charged me for a new water pump and installation for this.
He said that the gasket wasn't leaking.
To the contrary. I wasn't at all feeling good about this, so a few days later I took my van for a tune up, to another mechanic. He asked me if I knew my gasket was leaking to my water pump. I told him I had just had the water pump rebuilt and that the mechanic then said it wasn't leaking. He showed me it was soaked at the gasket.
The employees were very helpful and very polite, and I appreciate so much having my van worked on and completed so quickly, however I am not at all happy about how this repair went.
