HSBC Auto is a complete rip off. We were behind a couple months on our auto loan because my hours were cut in half at work, I asked them numerous times for an extension or two, and the refused to do anything. I also asked if they could refinance our loan, we paid for a year without missing a payment and they still refused to do anything. One evening, the repo man came, so the kids and I cleaned out the vehicle and they took it. We never heard from HSBC again, until we got the resale letter yesterday. They sold it in less than a month, and the reason they sold it so fast, we didnt even know where or when the auction or private sale was going to take place. We owed the same amount of money after 1 1/2 years of paying on the truck. Anyway, they sold it for 11,100.00, we borrowed 27,400, and still owed 26,400 on the truck. The truck was apparently sold privatly for 11,100. Which is way too low. Apparently we are going to have to file bankruptcy on the remaining 19,000 we owe now. HSBC AUTO will not work with anyone, but they will see. They should have set a minimum to sell it for, versus the lowest possible price. Now they are going to be the ones out $19,000, not us... I sure hope some idiot from hsbc see's this rip off report.
