After my husband lost his job, I refinance my mortgage, which was bought by HSBC. Due to finances, I contacted HSBC for help, none of which they gave me. Ultimately, I lost my house and was forced to file bankruptcy. What amazes me is, I had someone who approached HSBC for a short sale, offering $100,000 for a house that was appraised at $140,000. They refused and I am now in foreclosure. What a stupid company. They could have gotten most of what was owed and now I hope they get nothing when it goes to a sheriff's auction. Someone should investigate this company. They are not helpful at all when their borrowers are having problems.
