My boyfriend and I recently moved to the Charlotte area from the West Coast. One of the first things we I did when I got here was by a new car. My boyfriend paid to have my windows tinted a week later for my birthday. The owner was very nice when we dropped the car off. 2 hours later when we returned to pick up the car he was not finished so we left and came back 30 minutes later.
When we handed him our debit card he said he could only take cash. A little annoyed and confused as to why he didn't tell us earlier we left to find an ATM. Later that day I noticed bubbles and what looked like scratches in the tinting, so I called to ask the owner why this was happening. He nicely explained that the bubbles were normal and would go away in time and that the 'squiggle' marks could be cleaned off a week later.
So... A week later when I tried cleaning the windows I noticed more scratches or 'squiggle' marks as the owner describes them... So I called back. He suggested I bring the car in so he could take a look and then schedule a time for the tinting to be re-done. As I am new to the area and work during the week, I had my boyfriend bring the car in. The owner refused to fix the windows.
When I called the owner to discuss why he was refusing to fix my windows as part of his lifetime warranty his daughter happened to answer the phone. She is also the person who posted the only positive comment on this website for her dad. I quietly and calmly told her I was calling about my new black Jetta that my boyfriend had just brought in.
She proceeded to raise her voice and in an attitude tell me 'there's nothing they can do... Window tinting is never perfect... The imperfections I'm seeing are dust particles and cannot be helped... They could re-do the tint hundreds of times and I still wouldn't be happy.' She then proceeded to hang up on me. I left my desk at work and stepped outside to call back. The daughter answered again...
I told her it was extremely rude to speak to me the way she did and not to hang up on me again. She said 'fine! What do you want from us then?' I explained I have had my windows tinted several times before without any problems and wanted to understand why they couldn't fix my windows. She proceeded to get very frustrated and began raising her voice again repeatedly telling me there's nothing they can or will do!!!
I told her if she continued to speak to me the way she was I was going to report them to the Better Business Bureau... She mocked me and said 'the better business bla bla bla... I don't care!' I asked to speak to her father (the owner) and if he knew how she was talking to me. She answered, 'yes! He's standing right next to me listening and knows I hung up on you already.'
I told her she had a lot of nerve speaking to me the way she was and that she had a lot to learn about the real world. She replied 'I'm a teenager, am going to be in college in a few years and that her schedule was very busy and didn't have time to talk to me anymore.' She hung up again! Needless to say this father daughter duo is unprofessional, lack customer service, do not honor their word, or take pride in their work.
I hope they never have the chance to disappoint, discourage or frustrate a paying customer like this again!!! Once I have the time to research and find another place to fix my windows, I will post another comment letting you know where to go instead.
