I paid for a lifetime membership to gettingFREEgas.com. Immediately, I received the payment confirmation from PayPal. A few weeks went by and I never heard anything back from the website and I realized how easily this site could scam people because the customers are basically sitting back waiting to be contacted by the site telling them they've been connected with an advertiser.
That's when I decided to request a refund because I remembered seeing "Satisfaction Guaranteed—100% Money Back Guarantee" on the site. I emailed Derek Seymour for a refund and he said I had misunderstood the guarantee, that it was not a refund policy, but that they would cancel my membership within 24 hours.
Sure enough, I went back to the website to read the so-called Money Back Guarantee and the fine print said that if another company found an advertiser for you before they did, they'd refund the money. I don't want to sign up with another company... Why would I want to be scammed again???
I'd love for someone to be an advocate to prevent these guys from being so slimey... But if no one can straighten them out, I guess I just paid $27 for a valuable lesson.
