Another single mother, sorry to be so trusting

I regret having to take time from my day to prepare this statement, but everyone should be aware or beware. They are predators.

My son and I went into the dealer in the Runnemede office, where I met Dick York. I sat down to find out what options were available with regard to purchasing a car for my son.By the time I left, I had a 10 year old car and signed paperwork stating that $7000 car that was purchased was now $9800. The actual contract shows the total and final cost for this 10 year old car as more than $16,000. It does not even reflect the $2000 that was put down on the car.

THE WORSE PART IS THAT... I would not have even known that the contract did not reflect the prices that we discussed if the car had not broken down just 6 hours after we took it home.

Just know the car was financed and I took it home without any insurance. I was told to make a copy of the insurance card for the other car and put it in the new car until I called my insurance carrier. The car broke down on a highway @ 1:30 am (remember there is no insurance at this point) when my 19 year old son snuck it out when I went to sleep for the night. After the engine problems, the car was picked up and kept for one week. Later I found out that after you have purchased a car, you have one week to return it to the dealer. As if that is not enough, the first day after the car was picked up, my son went out in his new car for the day. He told me that the car needed an alignment. The next day I drove the car and the steering wheel was 90 degrees to the left. I contacted Dick York via voicemail and never got a return call. I took the 2 year 24,000 mile warranty to Tire Store and it is NOT honored. But they did look at the car and inform me that the tie rod was on too tight and as a result the tie rod and the tires need to be changed. That is all of the information that was available with out them taking everything apart. I have no idea what else will turn up with this car but I can honestly say that I got duped. I was so excited to buy my son his first car that I let the excitement get the best of me.

My son loves the car and wants to keep it. I almost feel like taking it back and trying to get a new contract, but I don't know what my rights are. I hope someone reads this that can help me at least get out of the contract, even if I have to lose out on the money that I can't afford to lose.

I am vexed that I didn't check the place out before making the purchase.

I actually found the first article from "single mother" while I was looking up the phone and fax number for the business online. I left the card at home.
Too bad huh? And too late?

Just want to say that it is horrible that these practices are not looked into in this day and age at some level of government or law enforcement. It is an indirect form of robbery by deception. I know it happens more times than it gets reported. Some people, like myself are actually embarassed that these thieves have pulled something and we fell for it.
