To Whom It May Concern: We hired A C Delivers to transport some antique furniture from North Providence, Rhode Island, to Seattle, Washington. Unfortunately, three pieces of furniture arrived damaged. We communicated with Barbara Campbell, a customer-service representative, regarding this matter, but for 9 weeks, we did not make any progress. We received only short responses from Ms. Campbell, responses in which she referred us to Mr. Mike Davis. However, Mr. Davis proved very elusive, as we did not receive any communication from him at all for a very long time. We felt frustrated and disappointed because we had chosen A C Delivers based on its solid reputation, so we were confused that this should have been happening to us like that. Eventually, Mr. Davis offered us either $250 to repair our furniture or we could send it back to Maine to be repaired there at some unknown repair shop to be selected by A C Delivers.By the time, we decided that we wanted to have the furniture repaired in Seattle, as we had completely lost confidence that the furniture would safely make it back and forth across the continent twice. Quite naturally, it was very important to us to avoid further damage to the furniture. The estimates of the cost of the repairs of the damaged furniture that Barbara Campbell requested from us were done by professional antique-repairing & refinishing companies in Seattle. She and Mr. Mike Davis both had copies of the quotes, the cheapest of which was for $1,053.60. Considering the lack of response we had received and then the insulting offer of $250, we were by this time concerned about whether A C Delivers ever really intended to honor its obligation to repair the damage they caused in transporting the furniture. Before moving the furniture, we had insured it for full coverage with no deductibles. It cost us $270 for the insurance, $20 more than they were willing to pay us for the damages! We now know that A C Delivers is just stringing us along, hoping that we will give up and just disappear. We won’t. We have contacted the BBB in Washington, Maine, and New Hampshire. We have contacted and filed complaints with the attorneys general of Maine and New Hampshire. We have contacted and filed complaints with the insurance commissioners of Washington, Maine, and New Hampshire. We have filed a complaint with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. We will soon be filing for redress from the small claims court in Washington. We will keep telling our tale to others so that they too are not victimized by A C Delivers.
