Breaks on 2005 Kia Sportage

After a month of ownership the brakes started to wobble when applied. We went to Kia, and they informed us that we must be slamming on the brakes too hard. We tried to not push down as hard, but often, it was needed in a big city such as Phoenix, Az.

After 6 or 7 months we had enough. The brakes were getting too bad, so we went back to the dealership. They informed us that they had fixed the problem. The car did stop a little better, but the wobble, though better, was still there.

The dealership told us not to step on the breaks hard for the first 500 miles or so, "to let the brakes seat." Well, the longer we had our Sportage, the more the brakes wobbled. With the advice that the dealership gave us, we thought that we must have braked too hard within the first 500 miles, because the brakes begain wobbling severely yet again.

I then called the dealership again. They stated that we only had 1 year warranty on the brakes. We went with this (what we were told) for about another 2 years, with almost getting into a number of accidents.

We finally went to a independent garage, and told them of our problem. We then were informed that we had warped brake rotors. We had them replaced at a high cost to us, and since then, the car does not wobble at all and the Sportage stops better than it ever has before.
