I purchased a 2007 Ford Edge for $23,900 from Stevens Ford. After going through the entire sale & all paperwork was submitted and delivery was being done they told me they only had 1 key to the vehicle. As I was getting in the car to drive it home I found out they didnt have another key. They then told me if I wanted one, it would be in the nieghborhood of $200- Is the how a multi Million Dollar Company does business? I have to pay for a 2nd key? I dont care if its a used vehicle or not, FORD should have to absorb the cost of it when Im spending near $25,000 on a car from them!!! If they never intended on it, then they should have made it clear before I took delivery on the vehicle that they only had 1 key!
After complaining to them about it they do not seem to care at all - they told me too bad, I can take my business elswhere next time & hung up on me repeatedly. Now they wont even take my phone calls.
Best part is. I am calling other Ford dealerships and they are willing to sell me the key for $125- which is cheaper than where I got the car from. Also, they didnt give me a manual to the car and told me Id have to purchase that as well.
I am hearing they have a very poor reputaion and own Smithtown Ford as well among a few other dealerships. I think its obsurd to have to pay $200 for a 2nd key when I just spent $23,900 on a car. Plus the way they handled it was completely unprofessional. I would never recommend them to anyone. They are sweet as pie before the sale but once youre in the car, its screw you buddy!!!
Unreal - do not buy from them!!
