On October 15th, I won a bid for a bmw 840 from South Jersey Imports. I talked to the owner, Jay, and we agreed to meet in a bmw repair show in Newark NJ a few days later to do the transaction. We agreed to buy the car and a 2 year extended warranty from Guardian insurance for $2000 extra. The car was paid for with a certified check from Capital One auto finance, but Jay refused to give me the title because he wanted the check to 'clear'. 2 weeks later, Jay said he would drop off the title with the mechanic, but claimed that he 'brought the wrong title'. A month later, Jay still hadn't given me the title. When I asked for the extended warranty, he kept saying he would send it to me. Almost 2 months later, he finally admitted that he didn't send in the warranty information until a month after the sale. He faxed me a blank warranty sheet, and it was from the wrong warranty company!
It's approaching 2 months and I still haven't gotten my warranty or title.
Do not do any business with Jay - he's irresponsible, undependable, and lies constantly.
