I purchased a Ford 306 longblock from GES awhile back because of the Lifetime Labor Warranty they offer. Motor failed once so I sent it back to them to have repaired under warranty.
They could not find what caused failure and put it back togehter. Less than 2 months later this rebuild failed. I called them back once again (big mistake) and had them put it together for a third time and with under 500 miles on this motor it failed again.
This time I sent motor to a knowledgeable engine builder and found several problems with workmanship. First all crank journals had small scratches on them from dirt during assembly, second found that the wrong bearings were installed causing clearances to be too tight and finally the oil pump was not seated properly causing little to no oil pressure being provided to bearings which caused them to fail.
Not only was the oil pump not seated properly but longer bolts were used in an attempt to overtorque them down and hopes of seating them rather than taking proper steps to seat properly. Please avoid this place at all costs!!! I would be happy to discuss this further if anyone is interested.
