My brother and I, ages 24 and 23 purchased a used Honda together. We planned on tricking it out and making it "fast and furious" for me to take to college. I went to PepBoys to get a coolant fan and radiator flush. After requesting installation service, I was told that they were running a special on oil changes. I declined but was told that if I got the special, I could save $50 on my total bill. I told them that I did not have the time, but later consented. My total was $350 but the clerk handed me a coupon for $100 off. (75 for labor for the coolant fan, 150 for the collant fan itself, 75 for the labor for a hose, and $50 for the oil change)
Two weeks later My borther was driving home from work and the car just stopped on the highway, smoking. Upon examination by a mechanic, we were told that not enough oil was put back in the car after the oil change, if any at all.
Forgive me for being a woman, but I lost the receipt for the oil change, so the warranty was not an option. Please save everything you get and keep it all in a safe place or just boycott PepBoys and save yourselves.
